Children delight in a game when they don’t know when or if they’ll be tapped, or they have to scour an area in search of something (or someone) special. It must be in our DNA.

Prerequisite Skills

As mentioned earlier, missing numbers worksheets truly are an introduction to Algebra. While we’ve no intention to make Kindergartners solve for x, we do know that early learning of numbers is quite complex.

Numbers 11-20 can be tricky for early childhood learners. Typically, they can engage in oral practice counting, count groups of objects, and some even take readily to skip counting.

However, recognizing numbers as written numerals requires a better understanding of numbers.

In order to really be able to understand the concept of filling in the missing number, children should first be able to:

  • Count forward fluently 1-20
  • Count groups of objects up to 20
  • Understand that numbers increase as we count forward
  • Recognize and name numbers 11-20 on a number chart
  • Complete counting worksheets or missing number worksheets for numbers 1-10

    1. Hi Katie, I see that you are using a Hotmail email address. Unfortunately, Hotmail, MSN, and Yahoo are well-known for blocking emails that should not be blocked. My best recommendation is to use a different email address. Gmail usually works the best. If you continue to have problems, you can contact us at help@iteachtoo.com and we will do our best to help.
