How To Explain Patterns To Kindergarten Kids:

Patterns are an early math skill that is definitely easier to show than tell about.

Luckily, we are surrounded by lots of patterns and opportunities to create them in everyday life, and that makes it easy to show little ones what a pattern looks like. One great way to work on pattern recognition is to explore patterns in the playroom using blocks and toys.

Most young children are very visual learners, so by showing lots of examples of ab patterns for kindergarten, you will be able to help your kids grasp the concept of patterns.

A key word to use when learning about patterns in kindergarten is “repeat”. You can also explain patterns as being the same thing over and over again.

You can practice pattern recognition with shape patterns and color patterns since those are two concepts that are very familiar to most kindergartners.
