Counting to 20 Pumpkin Kindergarten Math for Google Slides and Seesaw
When it comes to counting 1-20 it really comes down to repetition! But that does NOT mean boring! Math for Kindergarten is about spicing up numbers and counting until kids can fluently count and name numbers, quantities and more. What better way to do that than with ever-changing, engaging math centers and games. This Counting to 20 Pumpkin Kindergarten Math for Google Slides and Seesaw fits beautifully with your fall and pumpkin themes, and it gives you a little break because there is no prep!

Learning About Beginning Kindergarten Math:
COUNTING AND NUMBER RECOGNITION IN KINDERGARTEN
LEARNING TO COUNT FLUENTLY SETS A SUPER STRONG FOUNDATION FOR FUTURE MATH CONCEPTS, LIKE ADDITION AND SUBTRACTION.
Counting to 20 pretty much covers everything students need to know about counting to a million! Once children recognize and understand the base ten patterns found within numbers 1 to 20, they can apply those place value patterns and concepts to bigger and bigger numbers!
I love counting games and activities. Math worksheets are a great way to record progress, but the real meat of learning to count and recognize numbers should be through games and fun activities.
The kindergarten Google Slides/Seesaw for kids activity provides so many opportunities to practice the numbers 1 to 20!
Students will also be able to work on fine motor development as they click drag, or use their fingers on a phone or tablet.
In addition to learning number recognition and counting, use the fun pumpkin slides to get students thinking:
- Name the number aloud for each slide, then count aloud as you drag them to the pumpkin patch.
- Can you count backwards from the number on the slide?
- Is the number odd or even? How do you know?
- Trace each numeral with your finger to practice number formation.

What Can Kindergarteners Learn From Google Workspace Math Activities?
COUNTING WITH ENGAGING PUMPKIN ACTIVITIES
I DESIGNED THE KINDERGARTEN/PRESCHOOL PUMPKIN SLIDES TO BE AS DIVERSE AS YOUR STUDENTS. THERE ARE LOTS OF OPPORTUNITIES TO CREATE CUSTOMIZED LEARNING FOR EACH OF YOUR STUDENTS.

Why Is It Important For Kids To Count Fluently?
Besides the fact that kids love playing on tablets, phones, and computers, counting is a lifelong skill they will need to be successful with future math concepts.

Easy Ways to Extend the Activity
Counting Mats
Print the slides and laminate. Students can choose a mat, identify the number, then place mini pumpkin erasers onto the mat as they count.
Sight Word Sentences
Children can practice reading the sentence at the top of each slide by pointing to each word, “I can count to…”
Differentiate
Some students will be ready to tackle numbers 1 to 20, while others will be overwhelmed. Adjust the numbers you give to students so they feel successful, not frustrated.
Make it a Game
Students can take turns completing the slides with a partner. When it isn’t their turn to count and drag the pumpkins to the patch, they should be the “teacher” and count in their head.
